Today we have released AvPlan 3.4 in the Apple App Store. In this release we have added
Full support for New Zealand.
New aircraft icons
New ‘Direct-To’ button
New ‘New Flight Plan’ button
We have officially licensed all data from Airways NZ and added the New Zealand VNC map to the MegaVFR chart within AvPlan. We have also added the New Zealand IFR en route charts to the Mega IFR Low chart. The complete New Zealand AIP is available, with geo-referenced airport diagrams, VFR and IFR approach and departure procedures. IFIS briefings are supported, and VFR and IFR flight plan submission via IFIS.
New Zealand subscriptions are available from our NZ store. The New Zealand VFR subscription is $99 NZ and contains the New Zealand VNC and the AIP volumes 1 & 4. The IFR upgrade ($79 NZ) adds the New Zealand IFR en route charts and AIP volumes 2 & 3.
We have added additional aircraft icons, one for light single engined aircraft and helicopters. Tap Settings, User Settings to set the default aircraft icon. In addition, individual aircraft profiles can be edited to set different icons for different aircraft.
You will also notice a new button – we have replaced the big ‘Flightplan’ button to two buttons. The left most one toggles the visibility of the flight plan. The next button is the new ‘Direct To’ button. Tap that and the list of nearby locations will appear. You also may search the view to travel direct to anywhere.
We have also resolved a number of issues that some people were experiencing;
Print blank plan works again – does not print blank paper
The notepad now resizes properly when the iPad is rotated
Australian AIP Sup now available on iPhone
Issues with goto
The AvPlan EFB User Guide has also been updated, and there is now a documentation section in the Text pane within AvPlan.
