AvPlan 1.4.1 has been released and is now available in the Apple App Store.
In this release we have added the following new features;
Mega WAC with full Australia wide coverage
New aircraft default settings
New options for fuel tanks in aircraft models
The new Mega WAC is available if you download an updated navdata database. Open the app and tap ‘Settings’ then ‘Database Update’ then ‘Update’ to download an updated database. The download process will take around 5 minutes to complete. The Mega WAC will then be available to be viewed and saved for offline access. The map size is around 500 MB, so it will take some time to download. Other Mega charts will be appearing in the near future.
This release includes the ability to set default loading values (weights and fuel loads) on a per-aircraft basis. In addition default survival equipment can also be specified, again on a per aircraft basis. These settings can be changed by editing the aircraft details.
We have also added new option for fuel tanks where the moment arm changes depending on fuel load. These can be added from data in your aircraft flight manual. These settings can be changed in the Weight and Balance section of the aircraft type.
The aircraft models have also been altered to specify whether the aircraft is a helicopter or not. If a helicopter is specified then the ‘Select Nearest Waypoints’ window will show helicopter landing sites (otherwise these will remain hidden). If you operate a helicopter you will need to check this setting, as it defaults to ‘No’.
