AvPlan includes a terrain database which covers all of Australia at a resolution of approximately 1km square. A view of terrain height based on your current altitude can be enabled on the En Route page.
- Terrain which is 1500ft below to 500ft below is yellow.
- Terrain which is 500 ft below you, and higher, is red.
When a plan is in ‘Plan’ mode, the terrain will be colour coded based on the maximum planned altitude, and not your current altitude.
Terrain warnings, based on those defined in TSO-C151b (TAWS B), will come in a release shortly.
